In the last few years, there has been a huge interest in the emerging research and findings pertaining to training with specific limitations and less direct technical guidance. It goes by many names: Constraint-led approach, ecological approach, non-linear pedagogy, etc. The idea is that rather than overly burden the student with specific technical data, they are given an over-riding goal in a ...

In extreme circumstances, when working the limbs and head are proven ineffective, spiking the body can be used to create openings. This simple breath concept has huge implications for tactical performance. While it does not replace regular breath training or deeper principles, it does offer a quick bio hack , for lack of a better term, to access natural survival overrides during a crisis and is worth considering routine implementation into our self-defense training protocols. I agree. Such a great time
great video. What's the title of the next part video of this please?
Thanks for Watching. It’s not on UA-cam but it’s from my download entitled dirty boxing.
Always good to see your videos brother!
Thanks for watching. I hope you are well.
@systemacanada doing good just been busy. I've been doing some conditioning techniques, like punching light pole and using it to condition my forearm and fists. Any advice for Conditioning to create better pain tolerance?

Great video, I'm legally blind so I'm a walking target...
Thanks for the support.
I dont have a lot of skill but the double tap with the eyes always worked for me, plus they are a gross motor and easy maneuver to remember and apply under stress. Thank you Kevin.
My pleasure. Thanks so much for walking. This one always worked for me as well.
I did not undestand the reason for the double tap, please explain.
@@SabeelCombatives it’s just a nervous system overload. You can do once but many people tend to gouge and appear the eyes. The tap is just a neural interrupt. Play with it it and you will see it usually shocks without hurting

such clean movement.
I'm a Steve Morris fan but your stuff helps me on the door when I can't go apeshit 🤟
Glad it can help. Thanks for watching.
I like how you explain things surrounding one technique.
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
Thanks
My instructor was so good at adding that little pull to his scoop , your head would whiplash a little bit and make it harder to follow up with the cross. It was like a check in itself . I teach it now too, but never quite got it down like he did . I like these practical , high success entries where you kind of crash in then see what position you end up with .
Love 'The Bear Trap', one of my favorites. Thank you Sir.
Mine too. Thanks for the support.
@@systemacanadaGreat video, one thing you might explore is shock, shaking or tremor power (called by different names but the same thing) from Hakka Kung Fu and Cheung Lai Chuen Bak Mei (white eyebrow) in particular (not the Fat San but the Cheung Lai Chuen, he stripped it down to pure Combatives and trained Chiang Kai Shek's special forces search and destroy teams). HOWEVER, Bak Mei doesn't actually consider this "grappling" per se even though it trained exactly these moves. For example you will see these moves you are demonstrating in several of the "katas" but they only look like strikes because the 1 inch short power is not obvious. Now the problem with sparring using the Bak Mei style is you have no control over the damage you do if you apply short power, you get the neck crank and then snap and jerk like you're throwing a Mike Tyson upper cut. He generates sudden torque almost exactly like Bak Mei. Bak Mei grappling is striking and it's striking is grappling it has no concept of "wrestling"and everything technique, which are few (8 principles) designed for maximum destruction. You may be familiar with Lee Morrison of Urban Combatives, he's basically recreating low level Bak Mei.
So from the first technique Fairburn does a standing (front) rear naked choke from that. Do you have any experience pulling that off how does it work does the shoulder of the individual kind of put pressure on the Carotid artery?
I’ve used chokes quite a bit working the door but usually from a lateral rear position I favor facing away and walking with them like an escort technique rather than presenting my front towards them. The shoulder only gets involved in head and arm variations but those are also very effective-your arm seals one side and their own shoulder seals the other .

Nice work, KS. We used the scoop a lot in Thai for this entry. Very effective especially when used with that long high Thai stiff lead that protects your face on the way in.
Oooh. Love that as well. Also really enjoy Lomanchebjo”s pats and parries. He has such variability of power and timing . It’s deeply inspirational.

Huh. I never knew of arm rends. That is interesting. I would love to learn more
I’ll try to post more. Leg tends are even nastier :(
@@systemacanada huh what? A leg rend? Is that like a kind of heel hook? What exactly is a rend? Is it a single arm torque of a limb?
@@rollinOnCode the easiest to explain would be your facing his open guard-pass his right ankle to your right arm out so you have a diagonal Achilles lock. Turn explosively to face his feet-dropping your left hand across his body to block the his left side of his hip. If you keep the leg roughly at 90 degrees it dislocated the hip. I’ll try to find a clip.
You can briefly see it at the 1 minute mark here ua-cam.com/video/KxRNqzXXfl0/v-deo.htmlsi=WDPa5iO0gA9gkA5g
@@systemacanada ah. So leg rend is a kind-of hip lock manipulation.
That is really smart nuance concept- bring the head to the hand/elbow. I will incorporate that in my training

So the secret is to run like hell before he gets his hands on me, otherwise I will be bound and helpless quickly.
Ideally in traditional work you choke the modern out and then tie them or else you do it while another warrior holds him at sword point. These techniques above are incidental what-ifs-in case he starts to wake up or fight midway through. Normally I wouldn’t suggest trying these against a resistant subject if avoidable, but yes run lol
@@systemacanada OK, thanks for your quick reply. I still wouldnt want to get on bad terms with you after watching this video. 😊😊
@@cdresser7175 my pleasure. Lol
In horizontal strikes with the long end, are the handles always vertical to prevent damaging the wrist?
Some styles do teach horizontal long portion horizontal hits but I don’t personally find them as comfortable. They’re definitely possible with the right alignment .
the answer depends upon the skill level of botn you and your opponent, the trustworthiness of the floor surface, whether or not the attacker is alone, has a weapon, if you are surprised, handicapped by a kid you have to carry, etc. In 5 seconds, I can eff you up so badly with just my kicks that you'll probably never walk again, so the pen would be "extra".
That's true of everything, including a gun. The use of the tool is always limited by the skill of the practitioner. In the hands of a person with the right ability and mindset, it's a great force multiplier.
Crazy how even light slaps can cause someone to writhe in pain. Imagine what a full-force smack could do…

my sifu clipped me with his radius bone and i went light headed so i know how effective and real it can be and i was barely touched.
Absolutely.
I just found a PR24 in a surplus store in the original manufacturer package. I'm learning how to use it, and this video is awesome for that purpose.
Amazing. Enjoy the exploration. It’s an incredible tool.
After how much you’ve taught me during my self defense classes at School a couple months ago, I’ve felt so much stronger and capable mentally and physically, so, I would love to purchase a copy of this book! Keep up the amazing work Mr. Kevin!💪🏼
Aww thank you. That’s the very best thing I’ve heard in a long while. I really appreciate it.
How would you compare single PR-24 with pair of Okinawa wooden Tomfas (shorter)?
Material-wise, there is no comparison. The PR 24 monpac plastic is almost indestructible. you can drive a jeep over it at an angle and it won't bend. It barely scuffs against a heavy blade. It tends to weigh more as well and is longer than most tonfa, so if you can handle the size it will deliver a heftier shot. If you're on the smaller side, you may find it too clunky. There are a lot of 2-handed techniques with the PR-24 as well which make it easier to interface with a grappling and restraint dynamic--which is it's purpose. It's stands for "Protect and Restrain 24 inches" so the design intent was to help you block force, go in, and tie the subject up. The hitting, in an ideal world, would be kept to a minimum. 2 tonfa by comparison are much better for a boxing type energy. It would not be appropriate for law enforcement since the goal is really more geared towards destruction. If I had to face a guy with hand-to-hand weapons in a life and death situation, I would probably chose 2 tonfa since I would have zero concern for minimizing harm or getting them into custody. Also from a conditioning and coordination perspective, I think the tonfas in a pair let you explore and develop your footwork and distance control differently, I dare say even better. If I was carrying a PR-24 professionally, I would definitely study tonfas alone and in pairs in my personal time to grow my ability. A bit of a wandering answer, but I love both and find it hard to just choose one without putting it into a context.
Remake this video plss
I may have other videos that answer your question. What aspect are you unclear on?
Thank you sir

The hammer fist can break your hand threw the hardest focus mits done correctly
Agreed. It’s a game changing strike
@systemacanada I did a style 40 years ago. Never seen it again. I only learn for4 months the moves were called jowl .far by. lee. They had simbles small stick figer drawings . Had like a chi soul. Foscos on ground ING the weight .he could break hand threw very hard mits. I've never ever seen power like that befor. He was a Dr from new Zealand working at the Gold Coast Australian. The best mashall arts I've seen till this day. People try to use a hammer fist .but they really have no idea. But still better than normal punch. Good video
